Tom Young
'Having studied architecture, and although often working from a studio in the South of France, my current focus is on the various moods, structures and architectural contrasts of London.
The area's multi-layered history and clashes of architectural style fascinate me. East London has a very different character to the softer, greener West. I aim to express The City's majestic splendour as well as intimate glimpses of its quieter moments. It buzzes with life and is simultaneously a place of anonymity. It can be dark and gritty as well as soft and sublime.'
Tom Young's London paintings portray the capital as a living being in a constant state of flux. Many of his works are inspired by the old core of London, in and around The City.
