Selina di Girolamo R.B.A.
"My paintings explore the numinous power of place. Striving to be intimate, emotionally present and transformative, each piece is inspired through a deep shamanic relationship with the animistic landscape.
I am currently engaged in painting and drawing the East Sussex countryside around Hastings, so many works reflect the diversity of local beaches, woods and downland. Fabric and paint create layers that invite excavation, to find form in the ever-changing seasonal shift that conceals and reveals the mortality at the core of all human and natural cycles."
Selina is an elected member of the Royal Society of British Artists, South Coast Artists, a Board member of the Arts Forum and former Chair of the Education Committee at the Federation of British Artists.
She has won many awards including The Creating Reality Award and The St Cuthberts Mill Prize for works on paper.
