Jean David
'I have always felt an affinity with the ocean and sky, and it is rare that I produce a landscape picture that does not have the blues of the water or sky associated with it.
My interpretations of the environment try to capture the feelings and emotion of the experience by drawing from the initial visual impression of the landscape elements, and then abstracting that which I see are the vital constituents. I then go about placing these in a way that I feel amplifies the experience. I find that the best way to do this is with colour and texture, abandoning form and tone.
The result is typically two-thirds sky.'
