Mark Bell

Mark Bell was born in Liverpool. As a child, he lived in several places in England, Scotland and Europe. Upon completing a degree in English Literature in 1980 at Stirling University in Scotland, he travelled through Africa and the Indian sub-continent, returning to Edinburgh a year and a half later, where he re-commenced painting and drawing. Moving to London, he studied Fine Art at North East London Polytechnic, graduating in 1990. He now lives and works in London.

His work generally runs in distinct series, either influenced by the urban environment, expressing social and political concerns, or influenced by a love of the aesthetics of nature. He exhibits extensively, and his work is in private collections in the UK and Europe.
